Over the past few years, the Malta Poker Festival Spring Edition has become a real favorite on the poker calendar. Every April and May, players from all over the world flock to the beautiful Mediterranean island for a mix of sunshine, good vibes, and serious poker action.

This year, festival founder Ivonne Montealegre is once again pulling out all the stops for what’s shaping up to be a cracking week of poker. The full schedule is packed with exciting events, capped off by a $300,000 guaranteed Grand Event that’s expected to draw a big crowd.

But the 2025 MPF Spring Edition, hosted at Portomaso Casino, also brings something new to the table: PokerNews is taking over.

PokerNews Championship (April 29-30)

Come play the PokerNews Championship and see if you can outlast the PokerNews team—including Lukas “RobinPoker” Robinson and other familiar faces. Knock one of us out, and you might score a special goodie bag.

Keep your eyes on PokerNews’ socials and stop by the booth for clues. Follow the trail and you could win a Grand Event ticket. During the week, at the PN booth, we are dishing out merch drops and more giveaways. You never know what you’ll walk away with after a spin on our prize wheel.

Live Reporting from the Grand Event

The €120 APAT Maltese Championship gets underway on May 3, with the final day playing out on May 4. And if things don’t go your way in that one, no stress, you’ve got another shot at glory with Day 1 of the €250 Hendon Mob Championship kicking off that same day.
