The $100,000 guaranteed Mystery Bounty Main Event returned to 888poker this weekend following the conclusion of the exciting ChampionChip Games. Day 1 ran on March 30 and saw 986 players battle it out at the 888poker virtual felt. The curtain came down on a thrilling night of online poker action when Brazilian “plsfoldriver” bowed out in ninth place, setting the official final table.
Denmark’s “Nymark86” may have busted in 13th place, but they still finished with the tournament’s largest payout. This is because they collected the $10,000 jackpot mystery bounty before crashing out, which led to them walking away with $11,048 for a few hours’ work.
The final table players’ chip counts were top-heavy, with the top two holding 139 big blinds between them and the other six sharing 63, including three players with sub-ten big blind stacks.

The 888poker Twitch channel had only just started streaming the $100,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event final table when one of the shortest stacks was relieved of their chips. “Ramblalb14” got their last four big blinds into the middle with ace-king against the dominated king-eight of chip leader “FedorKot.” The ace-king looked set to double up the short stack, but an eight on the river scuppered those plans.
Romania’s “silviuprg” joined the list of busted players 15 minutes after the final table’s first casualty. “FedorKot” min-raised to 160,000 in the cutoff with queen-deuce of spades, and “silviuprg” three-bet all-in from the big blind with king-four of clubs for only 8,344 chips more. “FedorKot” instantly called and claimed their second final table scalp courtesy of a queen on the river.
The finalists continued dropping like flies, with “SaintGoal” being eliminated in sixth place. “PheresAA” limped in the cutoff for 100,000 and called when “SaintGoal” shoved all-in from the button for 264,353. It was king-nine of spades versus the all-in player’s ace-five. The king-nine flopped top pair and a flush draw, turned two pair, and improved to a full house on the river.

The final table was down to only four players before reaching the half-hour mark. “7betAA” lost all but 1.3 big blinds when their ace-king of hearts lost to “ChristianRA”‘s ace-four of diamonds. “7betAA” was all in from the small blind on the very next hand with five-deuce of hearts and didn’t get there.
Next came the elimination of “ChristianRA,” who sat down at the final table in fourth place. Laddering to fourth should be commended. The Brazilian’s impressive comeback halted at the hands of “AnglerFishy.” “ChristianRA” open-shoved for a shade under 12 big blinds with pocket sevens from under the gun. Ireland’s “AnglerFishy” called on the button with ace-jack of hearts, and it was off to the races to see who would emerge unscathed. The pocket sevens remained true up to the river when a jack appeared to reduce the player count by one.
After seeing five of the eight finalists bust within the first hour, it took another 90 minutes to crown the champion.
Third-place went to once chip leader “FedoraKot,” who ripped in their last 4.4 big blinds with queen-eight, and found a caller in the shape of “AnglerFishy” holding ace-nine. By the turn, “AnglerFishy” had a nine, and “FedoraKot” had outs to a queen or a club. The river was the six of spades, and heads-up was set.
The heads-up chip counts were all but level, with “AnglerFishy” holding a narrow 30.9 big blind to 28.3 big blind advantage over “PheresAA.” The heads-up duo butted heads for the best part of 30 minutes before the 888poker software dealt “PheresAA” pocket jacks at the same time as giving “AnglerFishy” ace-nine of clubs.
“AnglerFishy” min-raised before quickly calling after “PheresAA” shoved for 13.8 big blinds. An ace on the flop gave “AnglerFishy” a 91% chance of victory, with a five on the turn improving those chances to 95%. The river has to be a jack and only a jack or the tournament was over; it was a ten. “PheresAA” crashed out in second place, leaving “AnglerFishy” to collect the top prize and the title of $100,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event champion, at least for the next seven days.
