A new poker show called The Fold pits comedians against each other all competing to win some money … and a pair of underwear.
Action in the $1/$1 no-limit hold’em cash game takes place at The Lodge Card Club near Austin, Texas, where the show’s creator Nadav Itzkowitz finds his players for the games.
Itzkowitz, a YouTuber and producer, spoke with PokerNews to share some details about the show, and why he chose to enter the poker space.
Bringing Humor to Poker

The Fold has already released three episodes of Season 1, a season that will wrap next Friday. Two episodes will air this coming week, and the last one will feature poker pro Doug Polk, co-owner of the host venue.
Itzkowitz has been in the comedy space the past nine years and often plays poker online. Naturally, as he explained, The Fold is the perfect fit, and it gives local comedians an opportunity to showcase their comedic skills.
The new show isn’t just a content farm for comedians. Itzkowitz strives to create a home game atmosphere that poker fans will enjoy.
“The more home games that I got into, the more I realized it’s just a fun hang,” Itzkowitz said. “The game that we’re putting together is a game that you can play at home. It’s relatable.”
The Fold has already brought out more than 20 comedians through the first season. Some of the players have experience on the felt, while others are just learning how to play poker.
Austin is a prime location for such a show given that, as Iskowitz said, “it feels like a lot of comedians from LA just gravitated” to Texas’ capital city, which just so happens to be the fastest growing major city in the U.S.
Itzkowitz isn’t just a random producer who saw some financial potential in the poker space. He’s been playing cards since high school and is hoping to improve his live poker chops, which he admits aren’t that great for one unavoidable reason.
“I have a terrible poker face,” he explained.
Itzkowitz has been attempting to fix his poker face while competing in the $100-$300 buy-in cash games. But if a player busts him, they win a seven-day supply of underwear from Sheath, one of the show’s sponsors.
Speaking of which, Itzkowitz is busy lining up sponsors for Season 2, which he anticipates will air beginning in about a month or two. Those interested in sponsorship inquiries can email [email protected].
Itzkowitz said he’s received nothing but positive response to the first season of The Fold, and his goal is to use his show to get people excited about poker (and comedy).
Episode 4 goes live at 11 a.m. CST on Friday.
