GTO Wizard picked up one of the top and most eccentric poker players in the world as the company signed Dan “Jungleman” Cates as its latest Team Pro member.
The poker software brand announced the big-name signing in a social media post on Thursday. Cates joins poker content creator and Global Poker Award winner Joey Ingram.

Though he is mainly a high-stakes online cash game player, Cates has $18 million in live earnings and is best known for winning poker’s most prestigious event, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) $50,000 buy-in Poker Players Championship, in back-to-back years in 2021 and 2022.
More recently, Cates finished runner-up in the $100,000 buy-in 2025 Triton Jeju Main Event for $3.5 million, which he followed up with a rap video about the experience.
“Expect raw strategy in untamed Jungleman fashion,” GTO Wizard said about the player who has shown up to events dressed as the Terminator, Goku and a caged lion.

For his part, Cates said he is “looking forward to what we create together.”
“I’m very impressed by what GTO Wizard has done: their plans, their commitment to ethical gameplay,” he said in a video announcing the sponsorship. “Happy to be part of the team.”
There have been other exciting developments at GTO Wizard as of late. Earlier this week, the company unveiled live, on-screen analysis to accompany online tournament final table streams.
